Since the start of 2021, Montana has seen lodging tax revenue rise continuously. Since 2019, it shot up 132% statewide.
Lodging taxes are collected from guests of hotels, bed and breakfasts, campgrounds and other areas in the hospitality sector, a slice of the billion-dollar business that is the state’s tourism industry.
