Funding for a popular homeowner hurricane hardening program ran out just two weeks after applications opened up.

The My Safe Florida Home program takes applications in five separate rounds with priority going to low-income seniors to give homeowners free inspections and money to upgrade features such as doors, windows and roofs. After, residents can apply for a grant to pay for these features.
