The City of Richmond's Innovative Road Paving Project diverted 6,000 tonnes of asphalt from the landfill by using 40 per cent recycled asphalt pavement (RAP) on some City roads. Richmond is the first Canadian city to successfully use 40 per cent RAP, which has further improved the circular economy, by paving 4.1 km of high traffic roads and more than 54 multi-use pathways.
