These DIY windscreens for microphone are often called dead cats. It looks like a dead, moldy cat carcass. Good thing it isn't the real thing. You'll need a few things:
*Craft fur
*Fabric glue
*inner lining
Pick whatever color craft fur you'd like. I went with brown just because I can tie flies with the left over, but the color doesn't matter.
I use Aleene's Fabric Fusion. You can find it at the Wally World or any fabric store like Jo Ann's .
Sound is important, and for outdoorsmen filming outside is always a challenge even in the lightest wind. You need a windscreen of some kind and the most cost effective type are do-it-yourself types.
How to Make a Homemade Microphone Windscreen
1. Measure and cut a rectangular piece or craft fur to fit your microphone.
2. Measure and cut the inner lining. The most readily available is from old stockings, dress socks or panty hose. The inner lining should be the same size as the craft fur.
3. Glue the inner lining to the craft fur and let dry for a day.
4. Fold the fabric in half and glue the seams. Let dry for another day.
5. Put on your microphone and take for a spin.
