The Germany that we know today wasn’t always the large and industrious nations that we are familiar with. It was once a large region of barbarians and small squabbling nation states. It wasn’t until the Holy Roman Empire and the Teutonic Knights came along that religion and industry could be started in the region. Later on, wars among the barbarians and nations turned the region into Prussia and Austria. It wasn’t until 1871 that Otto von Bismarck united the region into the German state that we know came to be. It is our turn to create this history.
