‘Yadi Gaura Na Hoito’ by Srila Vasudeva Ghosh
LYRICS:
(1)
(yadi) gaura nā hoito, tabe ki hoito,
kemane dharita de?
rādhāra mahimā, prema-rasa-sīmā,
jagate jānāta ke
If Lord Gaura had not appeared as the yuga-avatara in this age of Kali, then what would have become of us? How could we have tolerated living? Who in this universe would have ever learned about the topmost limits of loving mellows that comprise the glory of Sri Radha?
(2)
madhura vṛndā-vipina-mādhurī
praveśa cāturī sāra
varaja-yuvati-bhāvera bhakati
śakati haita kā’ra
Who would have had the power to render ecstatic devotional service that follows in the footsteps of the damsels of Vraja? Indeed, the clever expertise of the Vraja-gopis is a prerequisite for entering the supremely sweet forest of Vrnda Devi.
(3)
gāo gāo punaḥ, gaurāńgera guṇa,
sarala haiyā mana
e bhava-sāgare, emana dayāla,
nā dekhi ye eka-jana
Oh, please sing again and again of the glorious qualities of Lord Gauranga! Just try to keep your heart simple. Not even one person within this ocean of nescience has ever seen such a magnanimous personality as He.
(4)
gaurāńga baliyā, nā genu galiyā,
kemane dharinu de
de vasur-hiyā, pāṣāṇa diyā,
kemane gaḍiyāche
Even though I chant the holy name of Lord Gauranga, somehow I still have not melted in ecstasy—how then have I maintained the burden of this body? How has the Creator fashioned this body with a stone in place of Vasudeva Ghosa’s heart?
NAVADVIPA MANDAL PARIKRAMA
Today, Lord Krishna is worshipped all across the globe by the spiritual process of chanting the Hare Krishna maha-mantra. But, do you know the origin of the Hare Krishna maha-mantra? Who began its propagation? and how it was propagated?
We come to learn from various authentic sources, Lord Krishna personally made His advent over 500 years ago in a golden complexion to inaugurate this process of congregational chanting as Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, in Mayapur, located in Navadvipa, West Bengal.
Sri Navadvipa consists of 9 Islands namely: Antardvipa Simantadvipa Godrumadvipa Madhyadvipa Koladvipa Rtudvipa Jahnudvipa Modadrumadvipa Rudradvipa. Each of these 9 Islands has a high spiritual significance and is imbibed with transcendental qualities. Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu used to frequently visit these islands with His associates and encourage the congregational chanting of the holy names of Lord Krishna. Every year, devotees take pleasure in traversing these islands, visiting various temples along the banks of river Ganga and reminiscing the pastimes of Lord Chaitanya. Particularly during the period of Gaura Purnima, the divine appearance day of Lord Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
ISKCON Bangalore presents the Navadvipa Mandal Parikrama, an online tour of the pristine locations of Sri Gaura Mandala, where the Supreme Lord and His devotees enacted their pastimes. In this Virtual Parikrama, one can witness the spectacular landscape of Sri Navadvipa Dham, beautiful deities of the Supreme Lord, take part in heart-touching bhajans, and listen to the most unique and confidential pastimes of the Supreme Lord.
