Ustad Salamat Ali Khan was the son of Roorhy Ali Khan, the Great Ustad of his time and the student of Great Ustad Fateh Ali Khan and Mubarak Ali Khan (NFAK's father and Uncle). Ustad Salamat Ali Khan's Qawwali singing not only gained popularity among the Sufis and pilgrims of the Dargahs, but Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Ghulam Farid Sabri, Manzoor Niazi and other distinguished Qawals and singers were also great fans of Ustad Salamat Ali Khan,His brother Mubarik Ali Khan and his student Sadiq Ali Khan aka Saddu. Nusrat often used to say that my brothers are my ideals.
