There are a TON of things to think about when starting a new build!! This video has a list of the top things you might want to consider before you start digging the footings... which includes locating existing infrastructure, considering the quality of the soil, looking at a Compass, making plans for construction traffic, and double checking the building codes for foundations in your area.

Some of these things may be included on the site plan portion of your home plans from an architect, but many are worth double checking because you can’t move a house very easily! For many of our projects, we design the home design and site planning ourselves.
