My names Jigheadjay. Im an Aussie saltwater fisherman. I started fishing and editing a few months ago and would like to document and share my progress. I fish land based using baits and lures, generally targeting the usual suspects, being Bream, Flathead, Trevally, Tailor and whiting.

In this video i land my first Yellowtail Kingfish.
Now, I chased these fish with my brothers for roughly 3 months. Hooking countless hoodlums and getting dusted each and every time.
I admit, i wasn’t using the right gear for the fish i was chasing nor the area i was fishing.
So i upgraded my whole setup, rod, reel and line.
And the first Kingy i hooked after that… dusted me again.
This was extremely disheartening, but at the same time gave me the motivation i needed to persist.

The next week i landed my first Kingy going 55cm.

2 weeks later i hooked and landed my first legal Kingy measuring 70cm!

I remember holding this fish in my hands and literally shaking at the knees.
I couldn’t describe the emotions i was feeling with words….

I will never forget this experience.
