On Tuesday, the United States exercised its veto against a Security Council resolution that sought to terminate the forced displacement of Palestinians, secure the immediate and unconditional liberation of all hostages, and ensure unfettered humanitarian entry to and throughout Gaza.
The voting outcome within the 15-member Security Council registered at 13-1, with the United Kingdom opting to abstain. Subsequently, the United States introduced an alternative resolution to the U.N. Security Council, endorsing a provisional cease-fire in Gaza that is tied to the comprehensive release of hostages.
