The number 1 reason that players hit the ball late is because they can’t accurately judge the speed the ball is travelling or how far it is away.
This causes players to start their swing late.
Which then causes the late contact.
The only way to truly fix timing issues is to improve visual function to a level that allows you to quickly and accurately read the flight of the ball.
There are a number of different visual skills involved.
In this video I’m doing 2 exercises that train key visual skills and areas of the brain involved in judging distance and speed.
See if you are able to get the target all the way in between your eyes like I’m doing here.
I find that most players aren’t able to do this at the start.
RECORD YOURSELF DOING THEM.
Did both of your eyes track together?
Or was one of your eyes slower?
OR maybe not even looking at the target altogether?
