As a part of #CelebratebyMYC, the #MadrasYouthChoir is excited to bring you a special song for World #NatureConservationDay that is observed on 28th of July every year!
This Kannada song "Jile Jile", written by renowned poet R.N. Jayagopal is about all things nature. This lilting number, composed by M.B. Srinivasan, talks about the importance of clean air and water for sustaining all life on Earth. The song also talks about the dangers of selfishly exploiting nature or releasing pollutants into the air and water, and how will it lead to dire consequences. It reinforces the idea that, this planet is not ours to destroy. It also belongs to the wonderful creatures that inhabit it🍃🌏
Jile Jile is not just a celebration of nature, but also a clarion call for conserving the clean water, air and all things that make this planet more than just another rock in the universe – a rare gift of life.
The rendition here is a recording from a programme at the Russian Culture Centre, Chennai in November 2013.
