The death of a Montgomery County youth and the belated report of the death of a Giles County man has pushed the States highway death toll to 313.

The 17-year-old Christiansburg youth--John Jackson Thompson--was killed late last night and 2 companions were injured when their car overturned on U-S 11, 9 miles East of Christiansburg. Two other--15-year-old Carol Ann Finch and 16-year-old Kenneth R. Lancaster--were treated at New Altamont Hospital for injuries received in the wreck.
Investigating State Trooper R. C. Keesee said the car apparently went out of control, and overturned. In the belated death report, Fred Bernard Southall of Narrows died of injuries suffered in an auto accident April 6th.
