Today's video is shot slightly differently than usual!
I've found that my camera will support natural 4K resolution while recording video - I might figure out rendering at 4K as well, but this crashed Vegas a couple times so... 1080p rendering for today. This means I can keep more in focus at a time, lighting is much simpler, and I'm also able to get neat zoomed in shots for close-ups which I hope you'll find interesting - keep an eye on the highlighting segment for a close-up of the Landsknecht's face! The only downside is that it currently only records in 30fps as a result, which I don't see as much of a negative personally; how fast do you really need to see a brush move? But I'm curious if the positives outweigh the negatives for folks, so if it's a help or a hindrance, sound off in the comments to let me know!
(Then YouTube killed the quality to 720p after processing! Well, that's unhelpful...)

Landsknechte were mercenary soldiers which formed the backbone of the fighting forces of the Germanic states in the Early Modern Period. Their massive pike blocks were fronted with 'Doppelsöldner' - men on double pay - who fought with two-handed swords or halberds to hack into the enemy pike formations and set about them up close. Theirs was the toughest, deadliest position in the formation - they got that double pay for a reason!
Landsknechte were also exempt from the sumptuary laws which governed codes of dress at the time, which meant they were permitted to go about the cities and countryside dressed flamboyantly and in bright, shocking colours; in his time, a Landsknecht was seriously punk rock!
