Connect the multimeter ground wire (black) to your car battery negative pole (ground) and the red wire to your MAP sensor signal wire (the one in the middle). Set the multimeter to voltage reading (20 range) and turn on the engine. Start observing the voltage readings. On idle you should get something between 1.2 to 1.4 Volts. When you open the throttle with your hand you should notice a significant increase in voltage. But you must open the throttle in an abrupt manner because the MAP sensor reacts on sudden and abrupt changes of depression in the manifold. For a full open throttle the voltage should jump to 4.5 Volts. When you release the throttle it will come back to 1.2 - 1.4 range.
