UPDATE: As of April 8, 2022, employers are no longer required to have a COVID-19 Safety Plan and must follow communicable disease guidance instead.
If you’re an employer in British Columbia, it’s important that you continue to review, update, and communicate your COVID-19 safety plans as conditions change. The fifth step in developing a workplace COVID-19 safety plan is to monitor your workplace and update plans as necessary.
Things may change as your business operates. If you identify a new area of concern, or if it seems like something isn’t working, take steps to update your policies and procedures. Involve workers in this process.
Have a plan in place to monitor risks. Make changes to your policies and procedures as necessary.
Inform workers who to go to with health and safety concerns.
When resolving safety issues, involve joint occupational health and safety committees (or worker health and safety representative) if applicable.
Let’s stay committed to keeping workplaces in British Columbia healthy and safe.
