Its been 1 year since the death of Kenya's most famous and beloved elephant. Big Tuskers are one in a million, and their genetics are almost wiped out thanks to centuries of selective hunting and poaching. Now there are less than 20 super tuskers left in the whole continent. Tim was very special to me, as I went all the way to Kenya to see him in 2016. I spent 5 days in Amboseli searching for him, and on our final safari we saw him slowly approaching us. Patiently waiting, he crossed right in front of his majestically and went about his way. I was blessed to have seen him in 2019 as well where I managed to get very close to him while he was browsing outside the park. I truly miss him and his memory will live on in me and many others who were blessed to have seen him. He was truly a living icon and monument for wildilfe, elephants and conservation in Africa. May he rest in peace.
