This is my second telescope that I bought for my young cousin. The first one, I bought from another brand. That one has a good tripod not the best, came with a backpack, however it doesn't come with a 3X Barlow lens and it was much more expensive than this one from ToyerBee. This telescope has a 3X Barlow lens which means I can have a higher magnification power. I also noticed that it comes with a moon filter too. Most beginner telescope set doesn't have a really good tripod and because of that adjusting the telescope to point at a star is really hard, since the telescope will wobble around. That's why looking at the moon on a clear night sky is the easiest target to practice on. This ToyerBee telescope's tripod is not that good either, and the tripod doesn't extend either. You have to put the telescope on a table or high chair if you want to use it. So I threw it away.
If you want to watch this telescope with a phone, or to take a picture, your options are to either hold the phone yourself or get a better phone holder to attach to the telescope. The one they give is horrible. My first telescope's phone holder wasn't any different than this one. Both can't hold the phone steady. Overall, the price is good, and it has much better magnification rate than my first one so in my mind it deserves a higher rating than my first one.
