So yeah, no Star Guardian Lux, but when it goes on sale in 1-1.5 years from now, I'll grab it. Until then, we're using basic Lux.
As for the game at hand, this is one of the more annoying teams I played with. And for the longest time, I didn't even know where to begin with this game.
First, let's start with Skarner: while we had yet to establish Viktor was bad, the fact of the matter is that it was still a fairly immobile mage pushed up past the 2/3 point of the lane, which is the dream as Skarner. Had I seen this, I would have camped Viktor until he learned what caution was. To make things worse, even after Viktor blows his summoners, Skarner still does not take advantage of it. Beyond just my lane, for one reason or another, this guy decided to build the Devourer on Skarner, who doesn't really synergize too well with it. Skarner is a nasty duelist on his own and can use tank items, meaning the Cinderhulk is actually a dream item for him that also increases his DPS. Due to how easily Skarner can get kited, there are just too many ways for this to get punished. And my absolute favorite part is where both he and Nunu fail to secure the dragon from Viktor, giving the enemy their 5th dragon. Sadly, he is not the worst jungler I've ever played with, but I think he is the worst one I've ever recorded a video of.
As for Viktor, the guy does not build sustain, so instead he shells out 200-300 gold each back for enough consumables to keep him going. It actually does get to the point where he spends about 2 completed items worth of gold on consumables at the end of the game. Even though he was pushing extremely hard and was unpunished for it, he doesn't take advantage of anything and just becomes a sniping victim. Morello's or Grail could have helped him so much and then he wouldn't have needed a mountain of potions to keep functioning. To make things worse, I looked into this guy and can confirm that Viktor is this guy's most played mid laner, meaning he has pulled this stuff on someone before and actually won off of it. I'm a tad baffled here.
As for the bot lane, I thought Miss Fortune's build was perfectly respectable until the very end when she picked up the Hurricane. Both her and Kog were utterly destroyed in lane, but she had double Kog's farm and an Avarice Blade to give her a massive gold advantage. As a result, she actually did pack a bit of a punch in the mid game, but she was manageable late and I could outrange her with my spells to make things tricky for her. I am going to assume the Hurricane was because she had already thrown in the towel and realized victory was out of reach.
As for the top lane, Nunu has amazing AP ratios because most people just build him full tank in the jungle. Additionally, his base damage is not too shabby either. Absolute Zero is one of the hardest hitting spells in the game if allowed to channel to full, and the AP makes it even worse. This is really noticeable when Olaf face checks a brush for me to bind him while Nunu charges. The spell nearly one shot him... The consequences for this Nunu build though is that Nunu is squishy and will get blown up if anyone can reach him. The entire enemy team's lack of blinks/jumps make this a heaven for Nunu as the slows and speed ups are much more effective than they would be in a normal game.
And the final point is for poor, poor Olaf. This was probably the best player on the enemy team, and like Skarner, he too grabbed a Devourer instead of Cinderhulk. The health would have served him much better as we had the means to kite him and he could only keep Ragnarok up for so long. Additional health may have allowed him to survive a couple times, and the flame aura should have helped his clear and even some of the fights. I don't know what he was running, but he definitely needed the 3 points in utility for movement speed as with alacrity boots, I could almost out run him. If he did have those, I have no idea why I was so fast here.
And the final note that I have is that Blitz denied me so many kills here by pulling enemies away. Luckily nothing in the end was impacted, but stealing the kills did slow down my power spikes and stopped me from just nuking everyone 8-10 minutes earlier.
And with all of that said, I can only help but wonder what exactly goes into play for determining the rank. I checked the post game stats and I did drop the most wards out of any player (even the supports), and Nunu did more damage than me on account of his crazy ratios and a fully channeled ult. I didn't think my CSing skills were really anything spectacular here. The only thing that I can really think of is that the team I'm with plays a role in determining my rank.
Anyway, I have another mid and jungle game for the week, but I may not have a game for tomorrow. I'll have to see what I can get tonight so I can space the roles out a bit.
