STORYLINE:
Afghan President, Hamid Karzai, met with NATO's (North Atlantic Treaty Organisation) outgoing Commander in Afghanistan on Monday and rewarded him for his service in the country.
British Lieutenant General David Richards commands 32-thousand-strong NATO-International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) force in Afghanistan which includes about six thousand UK troops.
Richards will be replaced in his post by US Army General Dan McNeil.
