Looking for a different fishery to try? The Puget Sound has a variety of different species to target. With light gear they put up a heck of a fight.
These Purple Striped Sea Perch have made a strong come back in the Puget Sound. Tie up a drop-shot rig with a small hook. While bait works, give Gulp Sand Worms by Berkley Fishing a try (camo colored).
Have another rod rigged up with a Sabiki Rig. Add a cannon ball weight to the bottom and drop your rig straight down into a school of herring. These tiny hooks also catch other small fish like these Shiner Perch and this Pipefish.
These set ups can be fished off piers around the Puget Sound or if you have a boat look for sea perch around rocky breaker walls outside of marinas.
Come down to Outdoor Emporium & Sportco. We'd love to help you out with either of these set ups.
