What if we shared information about financial abuse like we share pics of artsy walls on Instagram? Could we make this invisible weapon, used to keep victims from leaving violent relationships, visible? This summer, The Allstate Foundation is on a mission to find out. In six cities across the country — New York, Houston, New Orleans, Chicago, Seattle and Los Angeles — female street artists are painting share-worthy murals. Each mural contains a hidden message revealed more fully with Instagram's ""Moon"" filter. Passers-by are encouraged to explore the art, snap a pic and share the invisible issue for financial abuse.
We sat down with Seattle mural artist, Ellen Picken, to chat about her mural and learn why she's supporting The Allstate Foundation's mission to make the invisible weapon of financial abuse visible to all. Watch now!
