Mel Richardson describes how he used a bull-hook (Recently banned by Los Angeles City Council on elephants) in the zoo on one of the elephants that was trying to shift her weight onto another leg because of pain. The object was to make the elephant use her other leg, Seeing the bull-hook and fearing being beaten, the elephant put her trunk into her mouth and bit down on it, as she did this a tear appeared in her eyes.....
