South Korea is facing a shortage of face masks as the country continues to battle the largest COVID-19 outbreak outside of China. Previously, the government had urged everyone to wash their hands often and make sure they wear a new mask every day. However, the food and safety ministry has told the public that it is not necessary for everyone to wear masks, with the government releasing new guidelines on how to reuse masks as a temporary solution. Such mixed messages have left South Koreans confused.
