The talk of insects as a new source of protein is not new, people have been eaten them for tens of thousands of years and some people across some continents still do in vast numbers. The new idea and replacing e.g. beef with them is not new either, in the west this has been doing the rounds for the last ten years or even longer.
The question is, will lots of people want this still today and will it help, as species, including half of all insects are in rapid decline today.
