This video shows you the prep work we do before pouring a concrete floor. This floor had a 15 mil vapor barrier with taped seams to block any moisture from coming up through the sub-base.
An Isolation foam strip was installed along the perimeter to separate the floor from the walls.
We installed 2" blue styrofoam to insulate the concrete floor and wire mesh for reinforcement in the concrete.
This is how we prep a basic concrete floor for a basement in Maine. This is a residential house basement.
