The Dust District, previously known as the Batista Mining District, or simply Batista, is an industrial mining area of Karnaca, that earns it’s name from the hazy plumes of dust which emanate from the nearby silver mines. The presence of the Sirhrocco Currents blowing through the mines results in silver dust billowing up from them to fall onto the district at a constant rate. This phenomenon causes violent sandstorms, life conditions have degraded considerably and miners are dying, all in the name of the Duke’s profit.
