"Tree of Oedipus" is an American and English language premiere presented by Cleveland State University April 4-14, 2019. Directed by Dr. Michael Mauldin, this was originally produced in Greece in 2017*** and was recently translated into English for this presentation. It is the story of Oedipus, Antigone and the other members of the family tree as told through music, movement, elements of dance and acrobatics, the human voice as instruments, and of course, drama! With no stage directions, scenes or an intermission, this production is a collaboration of original music, choreography, and spectacle, that presents a "...ruined circus..." in this 21st Century re-telling of the classic stories of tragic destruction in a very unusual and exciting new way!
