I took a Toyota AE86 to the birthplace of Initial D, and drove it on the famous Akina touge. With a full driver's point of view run on both the uphill and downhill, and even some tofu!

Mount Akina is based on the real Mount Haruna near Shibukawa in Gunma, Japan, where the road depicted in the Initial D manga, anime and games can be found winding its way up (or down) the mountain.
I also paid a visit to D'z Garage, a "racing cafe" in Shibukawa with Initial D themed decor, souvenirs, and food. ([ Ссылка ])
The AE86 I drove is a Sprinter Trueno hatchback with the standard Toyota 4A-GE 16v engine, giving about 130bhp from 1587cc.
