The language you use actually changes your physiology.
What that means is that what you say to yourself when feeling anxious has a direct effect on whether your anxiety goes up or down.. You have the power.
Up until now I bet you have been telling yourself the wrong things. You tell yourself you can’t handle this feeling, you tell yourself that it might get much worse ,you tell yourself that you are terrified or afraid.
This language keeps you trapped in the an anxious loop or pattern. I want to show you how to break that pattern
When feeling anxious tell yourself over and over that you feel excited by this feeling. I’m excited by this feeling I’m excited by this feeling I’m excited by this feeling
As you say it the emotional part of your brain will immediately say that’s rubbish I’m bloody terrified but -that doesn’t matter just keep doing it and watch for the flip.
It will come like a sense of release or an inner shift
You will physical feel it !
You see fear and excitement are very similar states for your nervous system both are states of high arousal with all the same bodily sensations. You can flip between the two very fast.
You do it on a rollercoaster all the time.
If you tell yourself over and over I m excited by this feeling
I m excited by this feeling
I m excited by this feeling
You will flip your mind out of anxious state and into an excited one. Then your nervous system will start to calm down as you are not fueling any more fear.
That’s how fast language can change your state – try it out next time you feel very anxious or are about to have a panic attack
Get excited and flip your state
SO that’s just a another quick tip on how to end anxiety and stop panic attacks
