While I was away from the land, the little red car (Alibaba Electric UTV) backed over the edge of the road and ended in thick blackberry bushes.
An early attempt to use the winch had broken the bumper weld possibly due to the pulling angle, and a weak attachment point.
I attached the tow strap up high on a tree to pull in a better direction.
I used a couple of pulleys at the end of the strap to get better leverage, (make the winch 2 x more powerful)
I then slowly worked the car up using the winch, until out of steel wire. Then tying a rope to hold the car in place while re-adjusting the winch cable further up the pulley rope.
I reach inside to press the accelerator with my hand, so see if I can get a grip on the tires, and I even tie pieces of wood to the tires to get better grip (which helped some)
Rinse and repeat until we were in a position where the combined effort of winch, rear wheels and a neighbor's quad could get the car out.
It took 4 hours and 2 minutes from the first attempt until driving uphill.
That corner of the road is now named “Tony’s Dilemma”.
