The story of the man who put Beaulieu Sur Mer on the map and gave birth to the phrase Gordon Bennett! The eccentric proprietor of the New York Herald came to the South Of France in the days of the Belle Époque and fell in love with this part of the French Riviera. His name lives on at La Reserve De Beaulieu and in the town itself where the Bristol Building and The Palais Anglais still dominate the town. His villa, villa Namouna still proudly stands overlooking the bay and memories of his huge yacht Lysistrata live on to this day. It's the yacht where he entertained Winston Churchill in the bay of Villefranche. If you've enjoyed this video you could buy me a pint by clicking on this paypal link: [ Ссылка ]
