Biodegradable, compostable, bioplastic and oxo-degradable - what are the differences? Which one is more sustainable, and better to solve the plastic crisis?

What is the problem with biodegradable bioplastic? With the word "bio" it means they are biodegradable, and will not pollute the ocean, right?

What is the differences between biodegradable and compostable? Can you put biodegradable plastic in a compost?

Government around the world has been encouraging people to Go Green and reduce single-used plastic, which is good - but when plastic bag is inevitable, we are glad to use the "biodegradable" or softer plastic, assume it is better alternatives than the conventional plastic (Feel Good, Less Guilt !)

Bioplastic, Biodegradable vs Compostable vs Oxodegradable - what are the problems? How can we fundamentally help, beside reduce and recycle?

And what is the material of oxodegradable plastic? Why are the oxodegradable plastic worst than petroleum based plastic?

Plastic straws ban is just tip of the iceberg when it comes to plastic pollution- the real plastic problem is way horrific than that. Is Bioplastic really a greener alternative, or merely "green-washing"?
