French President Emmanuel Macron visited a major war cemetery in northern France on Thursday. His visit to Notre Dame de Lorette is part of his tour to commemorate the World War One armistice. During Thursday's visit, Macron met with descendants of French and British soldiers named on a memorial in the cemetery. He also laid a wreath at the foot of the grounds' Lantern Tower and lit a commemorative flame in honor of the war dead.
