At the end of the 21st century, the level of human technology has been highly developed, human cloning technology and cosmic voyages have long been realized and are no longer a dream. Meanwhile, many scientists are still tirelessly pursuing the secrets and truths of human origins. Through the examination and comparison of many ancient civilizations, scientists Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace) and Charlie Holloway (Logan Marshall-Green) discovered that humans may have been created by aliens from a distant galaxy. With funding from the Weyland Corporation, they travel to that unknown planet in the spacecraft Prometheus, which is run by Vickers (Charlize Theron).
After an inspection of the local area, the vision of the Earthlings was successfully confirmed. But their rash search for the "secrets of the gods" also led themselves into the abyss of doom...
