Emergency pill is also known as morning after pill which is usually taken 72 hours of the last sexual lag. It does have some amount of side effects which can be divided into a long term side effect and short term side effect. The short term side effect, abdominal pain is the most common you can see in emergency pill consumption. But it is unlikely to cause burning micturition most of the time. There are other side effects like photosensitivity, dryness of the skin, dizziness, headache, fatigability, mood swings, depression. These are usually the side effects which are not seen in many patients but it is seen in very few. There are long term side effects as well which is seen in emergency contraception. The most important one being the irregular menses which can cause spotting or they may have bleeding twice in a month or have very high menstrual blood flow in the cycles. They also can have reproductive organ damage in case they consume it regularly. Co we should use emergency contraceptive pills only in case if it is an emergency and not on a regular basis. It also can cause some amount of breast pain which is seen in very few patients.
