Sometimes, you might get away with leaving old gas in the tank for the summer and fire your machine right up. Other times, you might not be so lucky. In this short video, I'll talk about my thoughts on summer storage with an emphasis on your fuel tank.
Should you empty the tank? Should you ad a fuel stabilizer? Does old gas really break down?
Fuel stabilizers extend fuel life by preventing fuel breakdown during storage. Some manufacturers claim it helps prevent difficult starting, throttle hesitation and poor performance. Many stabilizers contain anti-corrosive and anti-oxidant ingredients that protect your fuel system and engine.
Emptying the tank solves the fuel problem, but could lead to moisture build up.
Old gas in your tank can cause problems, so can moisture and other contaminants, so this is an issue worth looking into.
