While the Roland Emmerich (Independence Day) directed Godzilla released in 1998 was widely considered a failure at adapting the Japanese icon for western audiences, the same cannot be said for the animated sequel that followed. In this video we take a look back at the tragically short-lived Godzilla: The Series, and explore all the things that made it a great action cartoon that managed to respect the King of the Monsters while also charting its own path.
