As this year’s VOICES wrapped up, BoF editor-at-large Tim Blanks invited two of the event’s speakers, designer Harris Reed and author Mohsin Zaidi, to reflect on the insights and discourses shared on stage and off.
During their fireside chat with Blanks, both Reed and Zaidi spoke about how the programme pushed them to think about how fashion’s creative community is tackling subjects like gender fluidity and what it means for the industry. Zaidi, in particular, referenced Reed’s talk with Alok V Menon on degendering fashion.
“It challenged the way I thought about clothes,” said Zaidi. Questioning everyday notions was the theme of the day, he said. “There were so many examples of my thinking being challenged.”
