Control is an illusion; when we attach to outcomes we can't control but think we can, we suffer. You powerfully overcome negative emotions when you learn how to cope when everything goes wrong.
Adult children who have been raised to never feel good enough oftentimes don't recognize when they are striving for perfection as a way to avoid the fear of criticism. During a live webinar, none of the slides I spent days creating worked. And although the audience would never have known that I was overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, and the fear of disappointing others and, yes, even failing in some way, I quickly recovered and relied on authenticity to get me through the two-hour presentation.
However, the following day, I experienced more stress when I realized other things had not gone as planned. I hope this video on coping with stress when everything goes wrong, so you can quickly recover from the unfair shame you may put on yourself due to childhood emotional trauma is helpful.

Stop allowing other people to tell you what to think and feel.
Stop allowing other people to emotionally bulldoze you.
Stop allowing highly narcissistic parents, siblings, partners, and friends walk all over your boundaries.
Learn to get in touch with your inner child so you can ground yourself in your truth.
Learn to honor your childhood experiences even if others prefer you NOT tell the truth.
Learn to speak your truth with confidence and without reactivity.
Learn to end relationships that are toxic, narcissistic, codependent and spiritually dead even if others don't agree with your reasons for doing so.
Learn to set boundaries like a boss, even if your knees are shaking.
Learn to release shame, unfair guilt, and over responsibility to others.
Embrace all of our emotions, become the silent witness within, observe rather than react to your thoughts, and feelings. Decide what behaviors to take from a place of calm, peace, logic and reason.
