Easy smash burgers on the Blackstone E Series electric griddle. Simply seasoned ground chuck burgers smashed thin then cooked to perfection on the Blackstone E Series flattop griddle. Since this griddle is non-stick, I'll show you how to still use a metal burger press without having to worry about damaging the non-stick griddle surface.
Servings: 1 burger
Shopping List:
(1) 2 ounce ground chuck burger 80/20
1 tsp. cooking oil
Butter
2 slices American cheese
2 tbsps. diced onion
1/2 cup rough cut iceberg lettuce
Sliced tomatoes
Dill hamburger pickle slices
Mayo/mustard/ketchup
Salt, pepper and garlic powder to taste
Directions:
Roll the ground chuck into a ball shape a little bigger than the size of a golf ball then let set out to come to room temperature for about 30-45 minutes.
Pre-heat the griddle to 450 degrees. Takes about 4-5 minutes.
Put down the oil on the pre-heated griddle and place the meat in the oil. Let cook for about 1 minute before pressing thin.
Place two pieces of parchment paper that are bigger than your burger press. With the burger press, press hard straight down and hold for about 10-15 seconds. Remove the paper and season generously with the SPG. Cook about 3-4 minutes on that first side. When you see liquid forming on top of the meat, flip and cook the other side.
Rub the end of a stick of butter on the griddle then place the buns in the butter. Toast about 1 minute.
Top the burger with the cheese. Squirt some water around the burger and close the lid so the steam will help melt the cheese.
Spread the mayo/mustard/ketchup on the buns then put the onions, lettuce, tomatoes and pickles to the bottom bun.
Scoop the finished burger onto the top bun and place on top of the bun with the veggies.
