This video introduces the concept of specific heat capacity. Specific heat capacity (shc) is the change in energy stored in an object or system as its temperature changes.
The energy stored in an object as its temperature changes is dependent on three things: the mass, m, of the object, the specific heat capacity, c, of the object and the change in temperature of the object, Δθ.
The equation for the change in energy (ΔE) for an object that has undergone a temperature change (Δθ) is: ΔE = mcΔθ
