Theatre Ballads was a 2017 commission from the English Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS), The Met Bury and Colston Hall Bristol. Created by Horse + Bamboo Theatre with a stellar line-up of musicians including Bryony Griffith, John Kirkpatrick, Kate Locksley, and Ewan McLennan, Theatre Ballads presents traditional ballads in a way you've never seen before. Working with puppeteers Gretchen Maynard-Hahn and Ailsa Dalling, this new show uses a range of artistic techniques to unravel these wonderful old tales before your eyes. The project was funded by PRS for Music Foundation’s Talent Development Partnership.
