Four German bishops are blocking an attempt to provide funding for a permanent committee to implement Germany's controversial Synodal Way. Supporters of the German Synodal Way want the permanent committee to oversee the Church in Germany. The Vatican says it will not give permission for the committee to be created. Church leaders in Germany are attempting to go ahead anyway. EWTN Vatican Bureau Journalist, Rudolf Gehrig, joins to share what this decision means. Gehrig discusses why the 23 bishops insist on the Synodal Council and what the faithful think of it. In October, the General Assembly of Bishops will meet in Rome for the Synod on Synodality. Gehrig tells us how the Universal Church is reacting to the negative trend in Germany.
