So I posted a picture of my rib flare and mild scoliosis on my feed the other day and it got a huge response from you guys with similar problems, so I thought I’d go into some more detail.
Rib flare can be caused by so many different factors, but I believe mine is caused by my anterior pelvic tilt which is causing hyperlordosis in my lower back, pushing the bottom of my rib cage out. I have learned over the years how to tuck my ribs down, but it’s now a strong focus to get it reduced as much as possible if I’m going to be competitive in bodybuilding meets.
My Pectus excavatum is pretty mild but you can see that when I do a vacuum, the ribs come in with a gap.
This is going to be an ongoing journey for me where I try different treatments, seeing what works and what doesn’t. I’m starting with Yoga, where I’m focusing on reducing my pelvic tilt and strengthening my core. You can have surgery but I want to fix it as naturally as possible.
