Speaking during the closing ceremony of the 8th international conference on community based adaptation to climate change (CBA8), Saleemul Huq, senior fellow of IIED and director of the International Centre for Climate Change and Development, announces the Kathmandu Declaration to delegates.

The declaration called for a radical shift in flows of finance to ensure the most vulnerable communities can adapt to climate change.

CBA8 took place from 24-30 April in Kathmandu, Nepal, and focused on financing local adaptation.
