This is perhaps the best rendition of the famous song of the 60's band, Procol Harum. It was performed in concert with the Danish National Concert Orchestra and Choir. The intro with orchestra rather than the iconic organ was a great surprise, perhaps an acknowledgment of Bach's Air on the G String root of the song. Though I miss the organ intro, I like the fact that it allowed Brooker to dictate the speed and the flow of the song in the first verse. With a more mature and now somewhat raspy voice, Brooker meandered freely through the first verse, evoking a rowdy night in the bar on a ship. It's pure magic and capturing.
