In light of Vladimir Putin’s spurious goal of “de-Nazifying” Ukraine and to think about how historical knowledge can be applied to current crises, the Library was pleased to host this virtual panel which analysed Ukrainian-Jewish relations in the 20th and 21st centuries.
The panel brought together experts on the Russian Civil Wars and their aftermath, the Second World War, and the Euromaidan and ensuing war.
They discussed not only the history of these events but also the way in which Russia has instrumentalised them to justify its recent invasion of Ukraine.
