U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen is in China from July 6 to 9, just weeks after U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken's trip to Beijing. On Thursday afternoon, Yellen arrived in Beijing, kicking off her four-day visit. In April, she said in her Johns Hopkins speech that "a full separation" of the Chinese and U.S. economies would be disastrous for both countries, and destabilizing for the rest of the world. Rather, she said "the health of the Chinese and U.S. economies is closely linked." In Monday's meeting with Chinese Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng, she noted the importance of cooperation between the world's two top economies on global challenges. So, what can we realistically expect from Yellen's visit? Could the trip help put China-U.S. relations back on a positive track?
