Discover how lions and baboons can co-exist
Lion Kingdom on National Geographic Wild UK, celebrating World Lion Day, 10th August.
In a natural world, lions hunt baboons. But in a Glade, by Tanzania's Mwagusi River, generations of lion- and baboon families have co-existed.
A small pride of lions live there and follow the rule set down by their ancestors: never attack the baboons as long as they keep quiet.
When kudu gather by the water, baboons would usually cry out when danger threatens, but not in the Glade because the baboons have learned that a satisfied lion’s stomach provides for peace
